- The number of questions in SSC CGL Tier 1 has been reduced to 100, but marks in Tier 2 have increased to 400.
- The SSC CGL exam now features sections like – General Awareness, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and Comprehension, and a new section on General Studies.
- The eligibility criteria have also been altered for specific posts, while the exam now comprises only two stages – Tier 1 and Tier 2.
- Both Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams are conducted online via a Computer-Based Testing format.

Before applying for the recruitment and beginning with your exam preparation, all candidates must be thoroughly updated with the SSC CGL Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2024. As per the last recruitment cycle, the SSC CGL Exam Pattern involves the examination conducted in two tiers. Candidates will have to answer a total of 100 questions for 200 marks in Tier-1 exam. SSC CGL Syllabus 2024 for Tier 1 Exam

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
The SSC CGL Tier-1 exam is a common and compulsory exam for each of the posts. The Tier-1 exam is qualifying in nature and will be conducted for a total of 200 marks. Candidates will be required to answer 25 questions from each of the 4 sections of the exam pattern over a duration of 1 hour. Each question will carry 2 marks.
